Type Testing is Hot Topic at Middle East Electricity Exhibition, Dubai25/03/2005| | | | |
The Middle East Electricity Exhibition, held in Dubai last month focused on the transmission and distribution of electrical power in the Middle East and the inherent challenges facing developers and engineers in the region.
Thousands of visitors attended to hear a broad range of expert seminar speakers on a wide range of topics and to visit the hundreds of exhibitor stands at the event.
ASTA BEAB's Kevin Sweeney and Mike Lawson presented seminars at the show on the need for testing and certification on both HV and LV equipment to ensure consistent and safe power transmission and distribution. Speaking to a crowd of enthusiastic and attentive delegates, Kevin and Mike were quizzed about type testing and how it can contribute to both continued safety of the distribution systems and ultimately the quality of life and productivity of the communities that rely on the electrical infrastructure.
Kevin Sweeney said of the event: "We were delighted to speak at the exhibition. The Middle East is a significant growth region for power development and it was encouraging to see the level of activity and interest of consultants, end users and manufacturers of equipment. Continued interest in certification demonstrates how well recognised and important ASTA certificates are for manufacturers seeking specification on major capital projects."
Hot topics raised during the exhibition included preparing for test, certification and testing of key components and design control. ASTA BEAB continue to provide a vital service to all parties in the supply chain and we are committed to maintaining the safety of electrical installations"
